Slice of Heaven

There's a place where I go and it's a slice of heaven. Even in the midst of trials I can escape for a while and forget the world. It is Adoration. It is my lifeline. It is time with Jesus. He's there, physically and substantially present and He is faithful.

I sit in front of the Blessed Sacrament and sometimes I just feel overwhelmed by His presence. I start to cry. I can't believe I'm in the room with Him. I'm not worthy. He showers me with His love in spite of my failings. I go in and at first I think I could stay there forever.

It's almost a sort of ecstasy. I forget about my problems. I don't care anymore about the world. I'm with Him and that's all that matters. I feel like I could burst and I want to shout on the rooftops that our Lord is waiting and He's right here in this little chapel. Then after a while, I feel a nudge. He tells me it's time to go. I must tend to my duties as wife and mother. I'm still in the world even if I'm not of the world. I'm only experiencing a slice of heaven and it's His little reminder of the Beatific Vision in heaven.

What a gift our Lord has bestowed on us. It's like a little known secret but we're not to keep it a secret. We're to share it and spread it. He wants all to come to Him. When I'm there I can feel the love pouring over and I want to share it too. I want everyone to experience this slice of heaven so that they'll be homeward bound and follow the path of our Lord and ultimately spend eternity with Him.
